I've added two more large-sized videos on the Members Area version of the Media Files page.  One shows the last two screens of the recent Dig Dug world record game by Ken House, and the other is one showing yours truly (Mark Alpiger) in one part of a commercial that was shown to promote the movie The King of Kong.

We have not one, not two, but three new picture areas (both with super-sized photos, as usual) for your enjoyment.  I'm happy to have contributions from: Brian Saur; a sizable (and important) one from Paul Dean that includes some exclusive, shots from his contest; and a great, and very encompassing set from Francis Mariani.

OHIO:
OCTOBER 2007

Here's a great 'double-shot' of photos, with max-sized pictorial coverage from two trips that I took in October 2007 (wow, I did some serious road duty that month !).  First, I went to Columbus, Ohio, to see myself on the big screen in The King of Kong.  Then, two weeks later, I tripped over to southwestern Indiana for an 'arcade party' event.  It was located at the home arcade of Jason Spindler, who's a CAGDC Members Area member.  Be sure to check out both of these great happenings.

Here are two picture areas, both with the photos maxed in size, for your viewing pleasure.  First, there's my typical large set of picture coverage, during my entire weekend in the area, and I also have a contribution from Eric Liddell.  More pics are coming, but enjoy these for now.

Get ready for both the third set of pictures from Funspot to be donated for CAGDC archival, and a rollout of my pictures - both sets in full-sized glory, of course.  Fred Pastore has granted me the use of his valuable pictures from Funspot 2005, and I've also gotten around to posting my previously shown shots in their full original size.  So, click to see mine, and / or to see Fred's, and prepare for coverage of yet another round of great arcade happenings. 

Here's the second set of donated pictures from Funspot to appear on the CAGDC site - Blaine Locklair has allowed me to utilize his coverage of this year's tourney.  He has numerous shots covering happenings, and arcade games, that I didn't get around to photographing, so, take a look at his 5 megapixel images, and drink it all in.

The full-sized pics from the latest Funspot tourney are ready for your perusal -  all 246 of them !  There's some incredible detail shown in the multitude of new (on the floor) games rolled out this year, so check it out.

Perhaps inspired by the recent rollout of Funspot tourney pics from 2003, I got around to posting pictures from their very first event, which was in 1999.  These shots are by Cameron Feltner, who generously sent them to me in 2005.  Here, I have both the original scans that he sent, plus optimized versions (as far as color balance, contrast, etc.) that have more accuracy and detail.  So, strap on the time machine, and take a trip back to the last Millennium.

They may be a bit late, but they're here now, and livin' large in this section - I just got around to posting this set of year 2003 pictures from Funspot !  Well, I waited too long, but it's all ready now, and all maxed in size.

Here's the full-sized pictorial coverage of this year's second annual Classic Arcade Gaming (dot com) Tournament.  As great as last year was, this year was probably a measure better, both with the four new-to-the-event world-class players (Abdner Ashman, Darren Harris, Rick Carter, and Jimmy Linderman), and with all the incredible performances.  Besides tour-de-force exhibitions from Jimmy and Abdner, multiple contestants threw down some serious gaming smack.  Check out all 94 pics right here...

I've added three more 'super-sized' videos to go with the three original ones I had on the Members Area version of the Media Files page.  Unlike the 'TV coverage' orientation of those, these fall into the 'Game play' category, and feature three world record holders showing off their stuff on their respective wr games (two of which have footage from the actual current world record performances !): Greg Erway is seen nuking his old world record score in a game of Tapper; yours truly (Mark Alpiger) tries to keep composure during a world record game of The Glob; and last, but not least, the world record holder on Tron, David Cruz, demonstrates play on the I.O. Tower screen in the game.

So, my already incredible video clips just aren't enough for you ?  Well, how able seeing some of them at 4 times the size ??!!  I've doubled the horizontal, and I've doubled the vertical, and if your Internet pipe is wide enough, then prepare to get 4 times the pleasure...

EAST COAST ARCADE CHAMPIONSHIPS PICTURES

Here's my first 'double-shot' of tournament pics, with coverage of both tourneys that have taken place this year at America's friendliest arcade - namely, Challenge Arcade, located near Reading, PA.  First, we have the event I co-hosted this past March - the 2006 CAGDC Tournament.  Then, there's the East Coast Arcade Championships, held in September.  Both events totaled 181 shots, and you'll get a feel for how great these events (and the arcade) were, especially in all their full-sized pictorial splendor !

The premier group of photos for the annual California Extreme show is now online, maxed out in size, and ready for your enjoyment.  I have almost 200 shots from in, and around, the event venue, including trips to: the former Atari coin-op building, Franz Lanzinger's area, Dave and Buster's, Golfland, and even out to Mike Hally's 'secret lair' in the hills (he's the Star Wars designer, among other great Atari titles !).  Oh, and, of course, CE is covered too, with lots of proto photos, Paul Dean's contest, and even the lovely (and brainy !) Jeri Ellsworth (on roller skates, no less).  Hey, this is 'must see IP' !!

Here's another great set of pictures from the annual tournament at Funspot, in all their full-size glory !  As was the case with last year's, I again have over double the amount from the previous year !  You can count on pics of all the big action, including shots involving world records set by: Brian Kuh, Bryan Wagner, Robert Griffin, David Cruz, Gary Whelan, Darren Harris, and Todd Rogers.

CAGDC member Alex Weir sent me a set of 13 pics from this overseas event, and the full-size originals are here for members to enjoy.

Here we have not just one, but two new discarded picture areas for your enjoyment.  I have a small set from Paul Dean that includes pics from his contest, and a much more sizable amount from the lens of Francis Mariani.

OHIO:
OCTOBER 2007

This 'double-shot' of pictures covers two trips that I took in October 2007.  Early in the month, I went to Ohio, to see the arcade documentary The King of Kong, and then, two weeks later, I journeyed to Indiana, and saw the home arcade of Jason Spindler while at an 'arcade party' event he held.  From both places, I ended up having a total of 10 shots that were discarded, and they're here, for you to check out.

Here are my usual discarded pics from an annual event;  this time, it's California Extreme.  Even more discarded pics are coming, but you can enjoy this set for now.

This time, I've got a double-set of discards !  First, Fred Pastore donated his picture set from Funspot 2005 a while back, and I've got the discards from those shots, plus I've also gotten around to weeding thru the unused shots from my previously shown event coverage for the 2005 tourney.  There's 49 pics in total from us both, so get to clickin' !

Here are a few more discarded shots from the 2007 Funspot event, this time courtesy of Blaine Locklair.  There's 29 in total, and those who wish to see more of Lori Baker, and of Funspot's non-arcade features, will be accommodated.

This 'double-shot' of tournament pics covers both tourneys that have taken place this year at Challenge Arcade, located near Reading, PA.  First, we have the event I co-hosted this past March - the 2006 CAGDC Tournament.  Then, there's the East Coast Arcade Championships, held in September.  Both events have a total of 67 discarded shots, which include a number of great people pictures that I either felt didn't make 'the cut', or that were just a little too repetitive for inclusion in my regular coverage.

I took a lot of great photos at the annual California Extreme event - in fact, I overdid it on a few (like Pac-Mania), and you'll see the results here, in the discarded picture section.  I have a total of 83 shots from in, and around, the event venue, including trips to: the former Atari coin-op building, Franz Lanzinger's area, Dave and Buster's, and even out to Mike Hally's home in the hills (he's the Star Wars designer, among other great Atari titles !).  Of course, CE is covered too, with lots of game and screen photos, plus Paul Dean's contest, and even an appearance from Jeri Ellsworth (on roller skates, no less).

Here we have the inaugural set of 'discarded' pictures (in other words, the ones that didn't 'make the cut' onto the pages containing my regular picture coverage).  There are 81 full-sized shots, including a number of unique ones that do not appear on the regular coverage pages.
